February 17, 2026 marks the start of the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Horse. Celebrate at the museum on February 21–22 with a festive weekend of family-friendly activities including treats, drop-in crafts, and cooking workshops.
On Saturday, February 21, enjoy live performances of the audio play Bun Fun New Year in English and Cantonese by Five Blessings Collective.

Join us for a staged reading of our Lunar New Year episode at the Museum of Vancouver! Watch Amanda Sum, Aidan Chan, Nancy Tam, Derek Chan, and Christopher Lam bring our story to life followed by a presentation on the history of Lunar New Year celebrations in Vancouver by the Canadian Chinese Museum! This 45-minute event is suitable for kids three years and older.
Afterwards, stick around for colouring pages and temporary tattoos based on the episode!

Join us for a staged reading of our Dragon Boat Festival episode as part of “Fluffy Blessings,” a 45-minute hybrid event for kids three years and older at Odd Meridian Arts’ ahmm (asian heritage month at morrow). Heidi Damayo, Aidan Chan, Katrina Teitz, Jasmine Chen, Conor Wylie, and Anjela Magpantay will be bringing our story to life!
Afterwards, stick around for Fluffy and Friends Lion Dance! Enjoy this full afternoon featuring whimsical gender non-binary creatures, and then take a little time to visit the amazing playground across the street!
